There are seven sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church. Whilst many of these are good practices between you and God, the Roman Catholic Church has wrongly turned them into religious acts that need to be administered by a Priest in order for God’s people to obtain his grace.
It is important to remember that we do not need the church, or a priest to act as a mediator between us and God. Christ has died once-and-for-all (Hebrews 7 verse 27 and Hebrews 10 verse 10) for our sins, so we do not need to keep earning forgiveness.
Whilst the sacraments are loosely based on things found in the Bible, the introduction of them as a way to earn God’s grace was created by the Roman Catholic Church at the Council of Trent in 1563.
